Fogo Island Inn
The Fogo Island Inn is situated on a small island in Newfoundland. Designed by renowned Norwegian architect Todd Sanders, the simple hotel design reflects a modern take on traditional Newfoundland design and décor, with the designer borrowing design elements from traditional Newfoundland homes, using the slight herringbone angle that the columns create with each other to anchor the east and west sides of the building, and the mind-blowing boulder seascape in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows of only 29 rooms is absolutely unforgiving sleep, a stimulating relief for the weary brain. Here you can enjoy the quiet luxury of not only handmade furniture and quilts, but also heating through the room's wood-burning stove.
