For nearly a century and a half it has been a major part of the life of the people in Southern Labrador. The lighthouse has been partially restored to its original construction and is designated as a Provincial Historic Site. Within this historic structure is an extensive series of exhibits depicting the rich maritime history of the Labrador Channel. Today, the lighthouse stands as a tribute to the eventful year in which it played an important role. Cape Amur is also a symbol of our maritime heritage and a history that has always been associated with the sea.
