Happy Valley-Goose Bay
Happy Valley-Goose Bay, located in Newfoundland and Labrador, was founded as a town in 1973 when two towns on the western end of Hamilton Bay, Labrador, merged, thus combining the town's former name Happy Valley with nearby Goose Bay. At the top of "OMG Hill" is a ski club where you can enjoy skiing while watching the aurora borealis. To get to Newfoundland from Vancouver, you can first arrive in the coastal town of St. John's, Newfoundland. The site began as an air base during World War II. Today it is still a Canadian Forces base. The town is home to over 30 nationalities, and Happy Valley-Goose Bay, near Lake Melville and the Grand River, is one of the largest population centers in the region, welcoming you to see the Aurora Borealis and experience the diversity of cultures.
