Whale

With its pristine skies, winding coastlines, and jade-blue sea, Newfoundland, with its 30,000 kilometers of rugged coastline, is a world-class destination for whale watching. From May to September, as many as 22 species of whales come here along the coastline to feed and play. Newfoundland is home to the largest population of humpback whales in the world, along with other species such as fin whales, sperm whales, blue whales, and orcas. The abundant food attracts these magnificent creatures in groups, where you can witness whales of all sizes chasing and frolicking in the sea. Even the beluga whales, typically found in the Arctic, join the feast here with other whales. Hop on a yacht, and you'll have the opportunity to get up close and personal with them and even enjoy a picnic together!

One of the whale-watching hotspots is the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve, composed of four islands. It is not only a paradise for whales but also a haven for numerous rare bird species. Here, you'll witness the sight of whales leaping in the water while birds soar through the sky, creating a playful spectacle that showcases the harmony and beauty of nature.
