Morning:8:00 pick up guests and drive to Cape St. Mary's Ecological Reserve, about 2.5 hours’ drive, visit the Castle Hill for 0.5 hour on the way, Cape St. Mary's Ecological Reserve for 1.5 hours;

 

The Castle Hill, located in the old coastal town of Placentia. It is the remains of a military fortification built by the French colonists in 1662 to protect their fishing interests in the area. Experience Newfoundland's French culture through the rusted remains of broken arms. Close your eyes and smell the smoke of a 400-year-old fishing ground like a battlefield! Cape St. Mary's Ecological Reserve, commonly known as Bird Island. It is the largest seabird roosting and nesting site in North America. More than 70,000 large birds cover the entire island and surrounding cliff walls in white, and this wonderland-like cape is home to thousands of Puffin, Gannett, Common Murre, Thick-billed Murre, Black-legged Kittiwake, and Razorbill. Legged Kittiwake, Razorbill, and Horned Lark.

 

Why is the Northern Pond Goose called the "amorous bird"? The mystery is yours to solve: you will witness the truly strange and beautiful way in which northern pond geese fall in love: the female and the male spread their wings face to face and then, shaking their heads, rubbing their beaks against each other or grooming their feathers with their beaks. Finally, the female and male raise their heads together, their bills pointing to the sky, and keep calling as if to announce to the rest of the group, "We are married! . Locals liken this scene to "fencing" (l'escrime in French). The northern pond goose has earned the honorary title of "amorous bird" for its unique and famous "fencing kiss".

Visit the Salmonier Nature Park,there is a 3 km wooden walkway that takes you into the wild home of the animals, it is a place that you want to become one with a variety of wildlife, forests and wetlands. Here you will not only get a good look at a polar bear specimen, but also see moose, North American caribou, lynx, bald eagles, beavers, snow wolves, snow foxes, otters and more up close.
