Day 1

A guide will meet the group at Pearson International Airport.

 

Transfer to the hotel via private airport shuttle. Check in and rest to adjust to the jet lag.

 

Should you arrive in Toronto by noon, an optional Niagara Falls excursion is available.

Mallard Cottage: Visit this historic 18th-century building, now a celebrated restaurant.

Late Afternoon  St. John’s City Highlights

 

Drive through Jelly Bean Row: Rows of vibrantly painted heritage homes, a landmark of NL culture.

 

Pass by the Colonial Building (seat of Newfoundland’s pre-Confederation government).

Day 3

Visit the iconic Signal Hill, where the first transatlantic wireless signal was received.

Marvel at the dramatic convergence of the Atlantic Ocean and St. John’s Harbour, known as "The Narrows".

 

Watch fishing vessels pass through the channel at sunrise and sunset. On a clear day, you might imagine shouting a greeting to someone standing 3,500 kilometers east on the rocky shores of England.

Explore The Rooms, Newfoundland and Labrador’s premier cultural space.

 

Discover artifacts, art collections, and immersive exhibits that narrate the province’s history.

 

Admire the building’s modern design, inspired by traditional fishing stages, and enjoy panoramic views of the harbor and city.

Newfoundland Chocolate Company: Indulge in artisanal handcrafted chocolates inspired by local flavors.

Journey to Cape Spear, North America’s easternmost point and home to Newfoundland’s oldest lighthouse.

Stand where the continent’s first sunrise touches land. A commemorative monument marks this geographic marvel.

Day 4

Long-distance drive to Cape St. Mary’s Ecological Reserve. Enjoy the stunning scenery of the Newfoundland mainland along the way.

 

Explore Cape St. Mary’s Ecological Reserve – A paradise for birdwatchers and adventurers. Thousands of seabirds nest here, including gulls, common murres, black-legged kittiwakes, northern gannets, double-crested cormorants, and great cormorants. The reserve hosts 20,000 wintering waterfowl such as eiders, long-tailed ducks, scoters, thick-billed murres, and Atlantic puffins. As one of seven seabird ecological reserves, Cape St. Mary’s is North America’s most accessible seabird colony and home to Bird Rock, the continent’s third-largest nesting site and the southernmost colony of northern gannets. It also boasts the world’s southernmost thick-billed murre breeding grounds and the Atlantic Northwest’s southernmost major common murre breeding site. The area teems with birds soaring, nesting, and scrambling along the cliffs, creating a breathtaking spectacle of color and sound – truly the "Capital of North American Seabirds."

Return to St. John’s, stopping at Tim Hortons en route. Pass by Bluefin RV Trailer Park in Holyrood, Newfoundland, a campground offering insights into RV camping in Canada and tips for future road trip adventures.

Charlottetown Historical & Cultural Exploration

Embark on a captivating walking tour through the heart of Charlottetown’s historic downtown. Immerse yourself in its rich history, charming architecture, and vibrant local culture. Highlights include:

 

Province House on Great George Street, where the Charlottetown Conference of 1864 took place, earning PEI its title as the “Birthplace of Confederation.”

 

St. Dunstan’s Basilica, a grand stone cathedral, where you’ll hear the fascinating stories of John Hamilton Gray Sr. and Jr. and their roles in shaping Canada’s history.

 

Confederation Centre of the Arts, the hub of PEI’s thriving arts scene.

 

Victoria Row, a lively street once known as Queen’s Square, now lined with boutiques and cafés.

 

Beaconsfield Historic House, built in 1877 for wealthy shipbuilder James Peake. This opulent Victorian mansion stands as a timeless symbol of elegance.

 

Journey to the island’s eastern tip for a taste of serene, small-town coastal life. Explore the Point Prim Lighthouse (1845), PEI’s oldest lighthouse and a National Historic Site. Souris Town & Basin Head Beach

After exploring the island’s eastern edge, embark on a scenic 250-km drive back to the central region. The route splits into two iconic shores:

Green Gables Shore (North): Rolling golf courses, pastoral landscapes, and the inspiration for the beloved novel Anne of Green Gables.

Red Sands Shore (South): A journey through sleepy farming communities, picturesque fishing villages, and rust-red beaches.

 

Drive to Prince Edward Island National Park. Discover the park’s signature red cliffs, wind-sculpted dunes, and endless ocean horizons. Hike a section of the Greenwich Dunes Trail (4.36 km total), passing through forested trails, floating boardwalks over Bowley Pond, and offering your first glimpse of the majestic Greenwich Dunes.

Drive to Green Gables Heritage Place (1h 10min drive)

Visit Kensington Train Station (21 Kensington Station). Built in 1905, this elegant station reflects the rise of Kensington’s economy and community. Designated a National Historic Site in 1976, it stands as a testament to PEI’s railway history and unique architecture. Notably, it was the first train station mentioned in The Montgomery Journals.

 

Visit Parkview Farm & Evening Stargazing

 

Parkview Farm: Explore Cavendish’s last active dairy farm, overlooking the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Wander fields stretching to the sea and learn about sustainable farming practices.
